Public Employees in the 21st Century: A Community Conversation

In the context of attacks on public employee unions across the country,
there is a critical need to redefine the terms of the discussion and
emphasize the critical work done by public employees that enhances the
quality of life for all citizens.  To that end, several local unions and
community groups have joined together to organize an event called “Public
Employees in the 21st Century: A Community Conversation”, which will take
place on Wednesday, July 13th (see details below and in attached flier).

In order for the event to be successful, the organizers are hoping for
attendance from a broad spectrum of union members and representatives of
the faith community and general public.  The experience of GTFF members in working
for a public university will bring a unique perspective to the discussion.
This is the kickoff event to a longer-term campaign on building support
for public employeee unions, and as an attendee you will have an
opportunity to contribute your ideas about the future direction of the
campaign.

So please mark the date on your calendars, and bring your family and friends!
