Regular Academic Year

Per the GTFF union’s collective bargaining agreement with the UO,  the UO pays 95% of your premium costs and you pay 5% of the cost during the regular academic year.  PDF of rates here

Summer Term

IF YOU HAVE A SUMMER GE: Per the GTFF union’s collective bargaining agreement with the UO,  the UO pays 95% of your premium costs and you pay 5% of the cost during the summer term.  It does not matter what session of summer you are employed as a GE, you are eligible for the 5% premium rate for the entire summer.  .

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SUMMER GE: Per the GTFF union’s collective bargaining agreement with the UO,  the UO pays 85% of your premium costs and you pay 15% of the cost during the summer term .  Rates for summer entirely depend on your summer employment status.  Summer is the ONLY time you may have the GTFF insurance while not concurrently being employed as a GE.

To be eligible for the summer coverage if you do NOT have a summer GE, you will: (1) have had to have a spring GE appointment and (2) you are NOT graduating in spring term.

i.e., if you only had a fall and/or winter GE appointment, you are NOT eligible for summer coverage.  If you are graduating spring term, you are NOT eligible for the coverage over summer.

Reversely, if you HAD a spring GE and are graduating summer term, or not graduating summer, but just don’t have a summer GE, you are eligible to keep the insurance over the entire summer.


Fall, Winter, and Spring terms

2024-2025 GTFF Health Care Plan Rates

(i.e., GE’s 5% share owed):

GE Only: $117.15 per term
GE + Child(ren): $202.77 per term
GE + Spouse/Partner: $239.46 per term
GE + Family: $335.55 per term

Spring GE’s WITHOUT a Summer GE appointment, continuing with their academic program next fall (i.e., NOT graduating spring term) can pay to remain insured over the summer term for the following rates:

GE + Spouse/Partner: $633.99 per summer w/o summer GE
