Associate Members are graduate students who may not have a GE job assignment from the university for one or more terms. These students elect to pay the equivalent fees of a member of the union. Associate Members enjoy full rights as a union member and can vote on all questions put before the General Membership, with the exception of contract ratification votes, affiliation and disaffiliation votes, and strike authorization votes (this is due to labor law technicalities). They are welcome to participate in all membership meetings and join any level of leadership within the union, including Executive Board, Steward Council, and Executive Council.
