The undergraduate organization the Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) recently sent a letter to President Scott Coltrane, stating their support of the GTFF strike platform. Their statement underlines the importance of addressing the needs of graduate students to better the educational experience of undergraduates and the campus community. The GTFF is very appreciative of the support from the undergraduate community as we stand as one to improve the University of Oregon. We hope that President Coltrane takes SLAP’s request for a meeting seriously.
The letter from SLAP to President Scott Coltrane is available here.
This marks the third major campus group to speak out in support of the GTFF. Undergraduates, faculty via both United Academics and the University Senate, and classified staff through SEIU have all now stated their support of the goals of the GTFF. We call on President Coltrane to begin to listen to all constituencies at the University of Oregon – not just the one inside Johnson Hall.
