Reminder: Last chance to formally join the bargaining team

This post reproduces an email sent to GTFF members on January 5, 2023. View the original format.

Happy New Year, GTFF!

This is a brief reminder that this Monday, Jan. 9, is the last chance to formally join the Bargaining Team by attending the 6pm BT meeting and/or reaching out to the team leaders listed below.

Formally joining the team is an important component of bargaining, because individuals engaged in the process are afforded legal protections that are slightly different from normal retaliation protections. Additionally, joining the Bargaining Team is an explicit commitment to be involved with the process for the rest of 2023.

However, not formally joining the Bargaining Team does not imply that you do not have a say in the process. If you have questions, comments, or concerns, GTFF members are encouraged to reach out via Slack or email to either the Bargaining Team Chair (Kisa Clark) or either of our Lead Negotiators (Emalydia Flenory and Cy Abbott). GTFF members are also welcome to attend the weekly Bargaining Team meetings, held on Mondays from 6-8pm at the GTFF office and via the GTFF Zoom

In solidarity,

The GTFF 2023 Bargaining Team
