Contract Ratified and Signed

After more than a year of negotiations calumniating in 8 days of striking, a new collective bargaining agreement between the GTFF and the University of Oregon has been ratified and signed by GTFF President Joe Henry and University of Oregon Interim President Scott Coltrane, as designated by the UO Board of Trustees.  

President’s Statement on Agreement

The GTFF’s bargaining team has spent 22 hours straight in mediation with the Administration’s bargaining team over the past 2 days. Early Wednesday morning the teams tentatively agreed to all language for a new collective bargaining agreement. UO expects $4.8M profit in 2015

The UO Board of Trustees Finances and Facilities Committee Meeting tomorrow, Wednesday December 10th at 10am. The agenda items (listed here: http://trustees.uoregon.edu/meetings) list that the University expects a $4.8 million surplus from tuition and fees this fiscal year. That would cover 92 years of GTFF paid leave.

More threats to International Students

On Friday, the GTFF sent another cease and desist letter to the University of Oregon Administration for illegally intimidating international students. The GTFF previous filed unfair labor practice claims on this topic as well as a cease and desist letter before the strike even began.
