GTFF Bargaining Platform: DIGNITY

This post reproduces an email sent to GTFF members on January 26, 2023. View the original format.

On January 20, 2023, the Bargaining Team presented the GTFF Platform at the General Membership Meeting, and members ratified it by a vote of acclamation. The feedback from the bargaining survey was clear: Graduate Employees deserve DIGNITY. Specifically, we want:

  • Economic Stability
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Respect for International GE’s
  • Professional Working Conditions
  • Resources for Underserved Groups
  • To Bridge the Power Gap

GEs Deserve DIGNITY

You can learn more about the specific concerns listed in each point by clicking the button above. However, you will notice that we do not have explicit demands just yet. Defining these demands and securing your approval is a vital next step for the Bargaining Team. Keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks and plan on attending the Bargaining Town Hall on Friday, Feb. 17, 5-7pm in person (Allen Hall 221) or via Zoom

Lastly, the Bargaining Team wants to ensure as much dialogue as possible with Rank-and-File members during this process. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns that you’d like to share with the Bargaining Team, please submit them here. All feedback is anonymous.

What Does Dignity Mean to You?

The members are the movement, so we want to hear what dignity means to you. Your submissions will not only be useful in ensuring that the Bargaining Team continues to zero in on what is important to our bargaining unit, but will also be used to craft messaging used in the organizing efforts made by the Contract Action Team. Share your thoughts by clicking the button below:
