This year, we celebrated the 40th anniversary of the signing of the GTFF’s first collective bargaining agreement, which occurred on November 10, 1978!
Former and current members of the GTFF gathered in Eugene from November 9 to November 11, 2018 to celebrate four decades of graduate student collective bargaining at the University of Oregon. We had rallies, workshops, and social events for members old and new to get together.
We hosted special guest speaker Jane McAlevey (author of No Shortcuts, Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age, and Raising Expectations (and Raising Hell): My Decade Fighting for the Labor Movement), as well as speakers and panelists from the Labor Education and Research Center, American Federation of Teachers (AFT)-Oregon, AFT National, other graduate unions, and GTFF alumni.
