Organizing Blitz Results

Thanks to every member, steward,
and volunteer who helped us attain our goal of 80% membership! We were also able to have some great conversations about upcoming bargaining and the impending Supreme Court decision JANUS vs. AFSCME.

Here is what volunteers were able to achieve last week by going out and knocking on office doors: 

GE volunteers: 22
GTFF / AFT staff volunteers: 4
Total shifts: 47
Conversations: 166
Commitment cards: 107
New members: 22 (+ 1 associate; +3 who will be GEs in Fall)

Total membership level: 80%
2018-2019 Election Results
Thank you for voting in this year's elections. Congratulations to our new officers! 

By-Law Amendments:

Proposed change to Article 7 of the GTFF bylaws: create consistency for outside political endorsements, and create a timelier endorsement process. Do you approve this change?
(Yes: 94%  No: 6%)

Proposed change to Article 7 of the GTFF bylaws: repeal Section 7 (officer stipends). Do you approve this change?
(Yes: 45%   No: 55%)

Proposed change to Article 14 of the GTFF bylaws: if GTFF can no longer collect fair share dues, a progressive
due structure will be enacted. Do you approve this change?
(Yes: 80%  No: 20%)

Proposed change to Article 6 of the GTFF bylaws: modify rules for steward elections. Do you approve this change?
(Yes: 85%  No: 15%)
