HELLO GTFF!

Rhiannon Lindgren here! I am emailing today to solicit participation in this week's collective action.

This Thursday, October 24th, we will be holding a Ready to Strike Informational Picket from 11:30am-1pm.

As part of planning our organizing campaign, the Contract Action Team (CAT) has planned a collective action each week for the rest of the month to help ramp up the pressure on the university administration. On the heels of an INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL RALLY this past Friday, we must continue to build on our momentum. This work is critical to our bargaining process. We need to help our Bargaining Committee through these collective actions to get the university to settle so that we can avoid a strike.

As such, I am asking all members who are able to participate in our information picket this Thursday, October 24th, from 11:30am-1pm. We will be demonstrating to campus that we are unified and ready and that our strike authorization vote is not simply a veiled threat.

PLEASE FILL OUT THIS GOOGLE FORM IF YOU CAN ATTEND THE READY TO STRIKE INFO PICKET. LET'S MAKE OUR DETERMINATION AND SOLIDARITY FELT ACROSS CAMPUS! Allies are also welcome to sign up!

Additionally, I am looking for volunteers to be picket captains/leads during the action to help organize the groups and navigate any potential obstacles. Please email this email (humanities.gtff@gmail.com) if you are interested in being a picket captain for this informational picket.

You can also participate in our online informational campaign this week! Post on social media this week using our hashtags:

  • #faircontractNOW
  • #gradsRAISEUO
  • #UOworksbecausewedo
  • #Ready2Strike
