Operations Committee Mutual Aid Statement

Recently, the GTFF Operations Committee met to discuss various ways we as a union can support our colleagues who are most vulnerable to the constant threat of white supremacist violence, especially during this moment of increased tension regarding the election. As such, we will be hosting Mutual Aid Office Hours at the GTFF office on 13th St. If you would like to pick up some food or other Mutual Aid goods, you can stop by during those scheduled hours and we will make sure you receive what you need.

Hours:

Tuesdays 10am-12pm PST

Thursdays 2-4pm PST

(Mask required, please open the door to let us know you are there and what you would like and we will bring it out to you)

We also recognize that daily tasks such as traveling to the grocery store (or the office) for necessities are even higher risk right now for our colleagues who face bigotry, racism, and/or xenophobia. As such, we have created a google form request for anyone who would like Mutual Aid goods delivered directly to their home in the Eugene/Springfield area by a member of the Operations Committee. The form includes a checklist of what we have available so that you can select what would be most helpful and you can report where to deliver.

If you live outside the Eugene/Springfield area, don’t let that stop you from requesting Mutual Aid. Contact operations@gtff.net if you are not currently in Eugene/Springfield and would like to arrange a delivery.

Signed,

The GTFF Operations Committee
