Last year, the GTFF and our sister union in Corvallis, the Coalition of Graduate Employees, held a friendly little homebrew competition we called the Civil War Brew-Off (largely because it took place the night before the Civil War football match up). Over 200 grad unionists paid $10 to enjoy beers submitted by the two locals and listen to some good music. The money raised during the event was donated to food banks in Benton and Lane counties.
CGE has challenged us again this year, only this time they want to have more beer. More beer means more homebrewers. We’re putting together our team with an eye toward having 10 people brew 5 gallons each. Do you brew? Are you in? If so, contact Dave Cecil <dave@gtff.net> for more details.
